Gillian McMillan
Making pots has been my passion for almost all my adult life. I took pottery classes in England before emigrating to Canada in 1967. Here in Greater Vancouver I studied at Kwantlen College, Surrey and taught at Place des Arts, Coquitlam. From 1991-94 I attended Emily Carr College of Art & Design (now ECU), graduating with my BFA in Ceramics. After that wonderful experience I shared a studio in Vancouver for two years, spent three years as one of two ceramic artists-in-residence in the just-opened Port Moody Arts Centre, before re-establishing my studio in my own home and garden just two blocks away. My work, mainly distinctive 'Jugbirds', can be found at the Gallery of BC Ceramics and Circle Craft Co-op on Granville Island and at Crafthouse, Vancouver Airport. I am a founding member of TriCity Potters. Please visit my web site at www.gillianmcmillan.com.
